Technology in the classroom has change a lot over the last few years. I talked to my nephew about the technology in his second grade classroom. My nephew said they have a smart board. I googled it and it is a electronic drawing board that writes with a stylus. He says the teachers use it so they don't have to waste markers. He also explained to me that it erased and you can delete the whole page. Also he said you can save the work and navigate the Internet.
         Another great technology they have in his school is a movable laptop lab. He told me when they have a project they will bring it in so they can do the research. They also use the lab for when they work on Study Island. Study Island is a internet game and study tool that helps reinforce the information that the teacher is teaching in their classroom.

       The video Mr. Winkler Wakes by Mathew Needleman was a great really short video about how things have changed in the last one hundred years. I believe this is true although Mr. Winkler stated that the school stayed the same all for the computer. He has also seen the computer in the hospital. Technology on all aspects of the spectrum has changed we are able to keep people alive on a machine.
      What would Mr. Winkler think today with all the technology in the school systems? I feel like he would not like it very much. I personally feel that technology has helped our school systems by connecting to the students. Technology also helps student who might have learning disabilities. Using different forms of technology in the classroom is beneficial if done correctly. The world and technology is every changing if Mr. Winkler went back to sleep for another hundred years I often wonder what else he would find when he woke up.

“Wanna Work Together” is a great video they talk about the problems with the copyright laws. The video is very easy to follow along with and is very short worth the time to watch it. They also share an idea of using “Creative Commons” to help show people what is ok to do with your work. Personally copyright laws can be very confusing.

 I think Creative Commons will be helpful to teachers that might want to share their great ideas of teaching. Often teachers question what they can use and what they cannot. There are tons of idea online through Pinterest and Teachers Pay Teacher. I could see myself using this I have a great idea or also looking at other great teaching ideas through this website.

In the article “Vocab For Toddlers Encourages ‘Anytime. Anywhere Learning’” they talk about if shows like Sesame Street help student learn. I personally believe it does. As a child that watched the show I remembered learning about letter and becoming interested in letters because on the show the letter of the day always changed. This made me start asking my mother about letter which eventually taught me about words. As a teacher you have to conform to how the student learn. I also agree that the show should not be used as a babysitter the parents and or teachers should work with the students and the technology. Technology can really help and student with an exceptionality if used properly.   

I believe that the Sesame Street work shop can really help student learn at a faster rate and retain the information much better than other forms of learning. Focusing on one thing such as the Television show then connecting it to reading math and language can really help a student get a better understanding of the materials. A student needs to be exposed to information more than one time to clearly understand it. With the Sesame Street workshop I believe students and have fun and learn lasting information.

The video Big Idea for Better School brought up many great ideas for example project based learning the idea of learning by doing something with it. As a child I found this to be very beneficial for me. Learning by doing something fun and creative makes it stick with you for a long time. Technology integration is another great topic that was brought up in the video. I have personally seen this in school. Going back into schools for observation hours I see firsthand the technology that is now in schools. The students love using the technology and it connects with them at a deeper level. Integrated studies was a new things that I really have not experience but I feel like focusing on one things for all the subjects in school and really take the confusion and add to the students deeper knowledge. Cooperative learning or working together really prepare the students for life experiences. Comprehensive assessment was another great topic discussed in the video. I believe this is a great way to test the student either the students know the material or they do not life does not have four choices and I believe teacher won’t be able to truly know if a student has retained the information if they just guess a multiple choice answer. Another great thing that will make a better school is having the student understand not to bully and teaching emotional intelligence. Explaining to the students that words can hurt someone will make a better learning environment.

Teacher preparation is one of the most important topics in my option hoping to be a teacher in just over a year I feel like the more knowledge we know about best practices the better we can help are students. Teaching is an art that must be practices pairing experienced teacher with student teachers helps them mentor them into the correct methods of teacher. Parent involvement is also a very important factor in the success of a student. The parents need to hold the student at a high standard and help them the child will strive for success. The child will have a better learning environment knowing that someone at home is proud when they try their hardest. To maximize resources the school the school should connect with the community to have mentors and to use the resources that are available. I really enjoyed this video and it made me very excited to get into the field of teaching. I hope to take the ideas and put them to use as I further my education.
